Raising chickens in a coop sometimes could make you wondering. What things should be inside chicken coop? Well, there are several things you should provide inside this thing. Besides lots of fresh air, you should keep them safe by preventing the intervention from predators to get inside the coop. This is why we are going to tell you the lessons and tips about chicken coop and things that should be inside it.
Lights on. When winter is coming, the chickens feel like nothing is daylight. So, you can provide a daylight time for them by providing a light bulb in the coop. A balanced timing will keep the producing even though it is a long winter. This is why you really need to install a light bulb and switch it on for 12 hours inside chicken coop.
System of water drip. Hens need water and it needs to be clean water. So, you will need a drip system so you can have the water sanitary. This system will make the chicken drink by pecking at the drip, which is hang on the nipple. It is like the only way you can keep the water clean. Besides, it does not need maintenance. You can call the local poultry supply store to install this system. You can even install it yourself inside the chicken coop if you have a few chickens in it.
Poop deck. Chickens love to poop when they are roosting. So, you can provide a pop deck right under the roosts and you can clean it easily. Besides, the deck will not allow the poop to be mingling with foods, drinks, and their eggs as well. Their bedding will be much cleaner with the presence of the poop deck. This is like the best way to keep the coop much cleaner. Just do not forget to clean the deck each week or twice a week.
